The Lifetime network has lost my respect for producing this biopic, they exemplify everything disgusting about the entertainment industry. Perpetually putting profits before people, deceit of entertainment before the truth. If Aaliyah's mother is against this, then it shouldn't be made. Everyone involved in it (including casted actors) will also lose my respect and support, as well as the respect and support of many other true Aaliyah fans. Choose well, Lifetime.

NoAaliyahMovie I was really young when Aaliyah died but have always been a fan and always respected old artist . And when I found out about the movie and how zendaya was chosen I got upset by it . For many reason it's no hate but because zendaya is already in the lime light and being chosen was something her family should of have control of . Her family is hurt by her death and seeing ppl using this young beautiful late singer for money and their own benefit is horrible to me because If it's one thing I do it is respect artist as Aaliyah and Michael jackson and even the late whitney Houston and against using these artist for your own benefit and I think the movie shouldn't even talked about without her family . And ppl might be upset but Aaliyah wasn't just an artist she was an sister an daughter to those who was really hurt by her passing so i'am full support of this movie being stopped.

To make a movie about a deceased person without the family's say so is very sickening but the directors and producers and ESPECIALLY Zendaya should be ashamed to even call themselves fans for going on with this project. How do you expect to make a movie about Aaliyah if you don't truly know her only her family does so basically everything would be made up or would be just about her career stuff straight from Wikipedia we will never know who she REALLY was like who knows her better than family. And I wonder in Missy E & Timberland knew about it? Thanks to my bestfriend who is a TRUE fan of Aaliyah she told me about this petition so Thanks You Know Who You Are;)

I don't like the fact that the mother doesn't have a say over her daughter's legacy. They're not only disrespecting Mrs. Haughton but disrespecting Aaliyah as well.

There's absolutely no originality nor creativity in today's industry...this amounts to the boatload of crappy "artists" parading as stars. They survive by leaching off of true talent (like Aaliyah) to feign relevance. Stop this "biopic"!!! If there were ever to be an Aaliyah movie, her family should be at the helm!!!
