Why go against the family's wishes and put this movie out? This is wrong and needs to be stopped.

I am against it.I definitely grew up in the 90's listening to aaliyah and other r&b artists.I for one would love the movie being done or told from her family's perspective and if I can't get that then, it's worthless watching it.Zendaya is incredibly young and she was a baby, literally when aaliyah came out.So I don't know how she can portray her.If the movie is coming out based on that book, more than a woman. Then I don't want to see it or wouldn't be interested in it.Because that book told very little to who aaliyah was inside and out.If the family is against it I am too

We As Aaliyah fans should not respect this happening! If her family is against it, then so should we . Aaliyah was very private and I'm sure she wouldn't want this! Rashad and Ms. Diane don't want this and I feel this movie wouldn't be right if they aren't behind it and they are the ones that knows Aaliyah THE BEST! Aaliyah respected her family decisions and always went to them for decisions and help so let's continue to support her and her family while she's gone. R.I.P Aaliyah

Aaliyah has a strong legacy through her artistry. As fans, we know Aaliyah lived a very private life so depicting her life in a film would be filled with fictitious scenarios of what the writers think happened and not true occurrences outside of her work. Let's respect Aaliyah's true identity and her family. I don't feel she would have wanted this esp without an African American actress depicting her and not some woman they chose who looks damn near latina. I'm sure Zendaya is an awesome actress but she looks similar to a Selena Gomez. So why would she be depicting Aaliyah?

I Think Zendaya Coleman Is NOT The Perfect Role For This Movie..Keshia Chante Needs To Do The Movie. And If She Doesn't I Will Not Watch This Movie..I Still Have Respect For Aaliyah And Her Music..But I Can Not Stand The Idea Of Zandaya Coleman Playing Aaliyah..And Whoever Made This Decision For Her To Play Aaliyah. They Made A WRONG Decision..

Coming from a "True" loyal fan, Nobody i mean nobody can Potray Aaliyah. First her Mother and Brother we're against the movie. Second Aaliyah was a very very private person, so therefore theirs things noone will ever know about her. And third she was a woman of "Color" and to be played by another race just not right. Her mother was black/Indian. This whole thing just a mess. With that being said if her Close family against it, so am i.

In a way, supporting this film is disrespecting Aaliyah because its disrespecting her family. That's not right!
