I feel the production show have held a country wide audition for such an unique role. Aaliyah was without a doubt the princess of rnb. Such talent was taken awake much too soon and I feel in honor of her legacy, we have an obligation to do it right. And not just throw anybody on the set...with much love to Aaliyah and her family. oprah winfreys family sold her out too in order to make a quick buck, you would too I'm sure.. that doesn't make it ok, and she's not here to defend herself so the family will. to the end.

This upsets me that they have the nerve to make a project like this without the families approval.

I don't think one of the biggest star from her time should have a movie on Lifetime, she is bigger than that

Please stop this biopic!!! This is unlawful and disrespectful for LifeTime to produce/air a movie about the wonderful Aaliyah Dana Haughton without the permission from her family. Lifetime should be ashamed of themselves including the other people involve. This biopic will not be a good representation of Aaliyah's life!!!!!!

Its not okay...there will never be another Aaliyah no casting director or producer cab change that period, then you dont tell the family? how the hell will you make a biography about her life without her parents knowledge???

Aaliyah's life should be a motion picture that her mother and brother have a major part as to be directors & producers of. A lifetime movie wouldn't justify her life and accomplishments in which many artists nowadays are aspired by her. Even artists that came out before and at the same time can admit that she was a true talent. Most of the talent that's popular today wouldn't hold a light to Aaliyah if she was still living. She set trends, inspirations as well as a positive outlook of being humble and family oriented. The actress along with Lifetime wouldn't do Aaliyah justice. You have to have a Detroit sense of style and attitude that reflects on a positive note. It needs to come natural and heart felt. Lifetime needs to sit back and respect Aaliyah's mother & family. Lifetime had no part of Aaliyah's success or upbringing let alone memory in which their disrespecting. Aaliyah ran everything by her mother. Lifetime not taking note of that and asking Diane for her permission on a child she birthed and buried is highly disrespectful!

Her family should have a say in any possible movie or biopic, and she should have a true portrayal of her. She was a brownskinned woman...not a mixed fair skinned woman.
