I think they should've atleast take the time to ask Aaliyah family because people keep comparing The tina turner movie with angela bassett but tina turner gave her permission to do the movie so these cases are totally different.

I can't believe lifetime is being so shady and money hungry. Anyone who was apart of Aaliyah's life and knew her personally is not being apart of the film, but instead it is being based off of book by an author who has never even spoken to Aaliyah about her life. I WILL NEVER SUPPORT ZENDAYA OR THIS FILM!!!! I hope Aaliyah's family sues lifetime for every penny. This movie will be based upon uncleared rumors and gossip that this author heard or read about in the tabloids. Zendaya's always talking about channeling Aaliyah, but how can you when you never knew her??? A TRUE FAN WOULD KNOW HOW MUCH RASHAD & Aaliyah's MOM MEANT TO HER & WOULD NOT GO ON WITH THIS IF THEY DID NOT APPROVE. I guess watching a couple of interviews and listening to Aaliyahs music qualifies you to play Aaliyah? NO, She needs to stick to disney!!!! Her singing is no where near close to baby girls talent, this is like her spiting on Aaliyah's grave and trying to live off of her name.

Every other movie portraying a celebrity has always had the family's consent! That is the reason why movies with the family's input did so well! Plus the person they handpicked to play her (like she really auditioned) is just all wrong! They didn't even try! Aaliyah was extremely beautiful but yet they cast someone who's not even cute!

I love Aaliyah and her legacy, we even share a birthday, but I wouldn't want to see a movie about her if it wasn't something approved by her family and friends. After all, this is their loved one that they lost, not ours.

I was a sophomore in high school when Aaliyah came out. to say I'm a fan is putting it mildly. my baby girl is even named Aaliyah. I would love to see q biopic done but not a made for tv movie a silver screen movie she deserves nothing less. and do more searching for the lead PLEASE!

It is ashame that Hoolywood has thrown away the AMAZING Aaliyah by ignoring her after her passing BUT now they want to make a movie about her and they are doing it behind Aaliyahs' families back by not even speaking to them
