This road is not needed and will only INCREASE the traffic in Lake County in addition to the financial shortfalls. If I wanted to live in Schaumburg, I would have moved there!

i was opposed and testified against Route 53 as a tollway going back 12 years when I testified at hearings and before the Lake County Board against it! I feel the same about it today as I did then. I believe we need better access to public transportation and other solutions to the traffic problems than a massive highway. More roundabouts. Widening more two lane roads such as had been done with Route 45 and 176 and others. A large project to make a Route 53 tollway is a BIG waste of taxpayer dollars and really is for the purpose of enriching the construction companies who benefit from the contracts.

No new tolls! The TIF will take your community tax money and put it in the toll road funds.

Ownership/Right to Needed Right of Way for 53/120 is awarded to a "Private Corporate Applicant" (Meeting 3 of Finance Committee). Local property taxes should not be taken from schools and awarded to private corporations. What freight will be shipped on this road? Will it look like our railroads? Also, who will be able to pay $5 each way, $10 a day, $50 a week, $200 a month, $2400 a year to commute? This is discriminatory.
