We call on government to re-evaluate the return to school measures and regulations outlined by the Department of Basic Education.
We believe it does not speak to the health and well being of our children. The regulations only cater for affairs inside the school but does not speak to the overcrowding of school transportation. 40 children in a classroom is unacceptable as children are more susceptible to contracting illness and it is easier spread. Children have a low immunity threshold and the actions of the DoBE don not reflect care and is obviously reckless and ill-planned.
