I already have a problem with things being stolen and hoodlums carousing at all hours of night. This will just exacerbate it.
It is to the point that I can not have a package left at my home. Please don't make it worse.
Over the years on 178th terrace, and now on 169th st, my next door neighbor was mugged. Strong capable me. One in broad daylight, one at night. There are already so many issues with safety, please don't make them worse!
If you speak to any drug rehab professional, they will admit that there is no telling what these people will do. It is part of their illness.
As I believe I spelled out, but I just want to say clearly; this project scares me and my friends!

An institution like this should be out in the country in a rural area, away from communities with families and children. We already have enough crime issues here and have a very bad image with the religious communities in New York. I can't see how the city gains anything by dumping such people right in the middle of our city.

The detox facility certainly does not belong in an area so close to two public schools

Why bring our community down. We contribute a lot the city and don't need all the problems that the secular world deals with.

Not in my community. Our children deserve safety and security. They deserve communities that are sheltered from such "grown-up" problems. We are working so hard to bring down the crime rate - why compromise the efforts?

In my capacity as a clergy member I work with recovering addicts. This is very dangerous for our community. The failure rate is very high and they will come "shopping" for easy cash in our homes and on our streets.
