If the RSW Regional Jail is not stricken from the Budget, the taxpayers of Shenandoah County will become committed to a regional jail in Warren County we do not need nor can afford. Shenandoah County Sheriff Tim Carter even opposed it. The regional jail is projected to cost over $100 million to build and operate over the next ten years. It is projected to increase real property taxes by at least 5 cents per $100 of value.
