My family pioneered this area and I do not agree with this. Pay the farms for carbon offset to supplement would be a better solution.

We are going to need all that we have so we need to protect it!

The selling off of this vital agricultural land is a travesty. It must be stopped immediately and laws must be put in place that foreigners cannot purchase our prime agricultural land for carbon off-sets! The way our province is currently being run there will be nothing left for our grandchildren. Alberta has legislation in place for this.

I disagree with Canada, specifically British Columbia, allowing foreign interests to use our country to offset their polluting practices. Carbon offset credit is totally unacceptable....rather equivalent to closing the neighbour's fence gate AFTER the herd has escaped.

Without farms we starve.

We are surrounded by these fields that were once hay fields but are now planted in trees. I wish there was something that could be done to put it back into hay.

We need to eat. We are not here to support other countries polluting. We also need to stop the Site C dam covering good farmland with water.

With increasing climate change our farmlands could become important food producing areas in the future. If anyone is to grow trees for carbon offsets on Canadian soil, it should be Canada.

We need to stop selling out to interests beyond our borders. We will be one of the few areas able to grow food in the future. Why plant trees when we need food.

This is terrible, especially when there is plenty of logged areas that could be reforested for carbon offsets.

farmland is FAR more important than some carbon offsets for big companies...
