It has occurred to me that the Spencer Recreation Center is having students removed for swearing or disruptive noise. This is a new policy aimed at making the recreation center a comfortable environment. I've been getting complaints from students across campus, and it's awful. Our student fee dollars paid for the Spencer Recreation Center, and our voice should have been heard on the matter. The recreation center has a variety of sounds, and sometimes swearing is one of them. What I'm trying to say that if you ban cursing in a place in which people are trying to combat obesity, diabetes, and any other health issues, then you're telling them that they aren't welcome. Sign this petition to end this rule, because in the heat of the game sometimes you can slip up and swear...It's just human nature. Sign the petition because you, as the students paid your fees to build that structure. I hope you take a stand!
