We are trying to put a stop to a proposed extension on the already huge opencast mine at Nnant Llesg, if it were to go ahead a lot of peoples lives would be ruined, the beautiful Rhaslas Pond will be destroyed as well as the habitat of more than 50 different species of birds, including Lapwings, Skylarks, and Red Kites, also Ospreys have recently been spotted around the area. The grasslands and wetlands have been untouched for over a 1000 years. This is home for many animals, sheep, horses, ponies, cows, otters, badgers, newts, frogs toads, where are they going to go? The main issue here is the future quality of life for our children, please sign our petition and stop this extension going ahead. Many Thanks for your support.

I spent the entire morning walking near Rhaslas Pond and watching the birds that call this place home. Watching the landscape today makes it even more painful to think about what the machinery would do to this ancient ground. I am drafting formal responses to the planning office now because our home is not just a line on a map for them to erase.

Seeing this level of support for the valley is humbling because it reminds me that I am not fighting for these hills alone. Knowing so many people care about the future of our home gives me the strength to keep pushing for the sake of my kids.

Absolutely heartbreaking. The pond is beautiful and those birds need their home. Stop the destruction now!!

Keep our valley green. My family has lived here for generations and we dont need more holes in the ground ruining the view and the wildlife.
