Stop the Railroad Bridge Being Built Over a Sensitive Manatee Sanctuary!

We just stopped light rail here in pinellas county. The plan is designed to enrich a few selected people. Transparency in these projects is non existent. To the contrary. A lack of transparency is a powerful political weapon. Not a single benefit will emerge, eight or ten guys will make millions, and the lagoon damaged forever. Signing petitions is not enough. Phone calls and loud noise works much more effectively.

This area of water boasts some of the most ecologically diverse marine habitat in the world. Any plan that would result in the destruction and distruption to this fragile and important environment is reprehensible and short sighted. This proposal is not unlike the Shiloh Launch proposal that was ultimately rejected due to the concerns and outrage of the local communities that depend on a clean and prisine marine environment for their livelihood and quality of life. The concerns of these people were that despite the promises made by Space X and Space Florida, no ecological harm would come to the surrounding waters...these were promises that the people saw through. SHortly after the rejection of the Shiloh project, Space X had an experimental rocket explode at low altitude shortly after ignition, spewing harmful chemical and debris onto the surroundding ground. Had this occurred in a place like Shiloh, the environmental disaster that would have resulted would have been unfixable and completely devastating. A similar problem potentially arises with the plan for a railroad bridge built over the north banana river. The construction of the proposal will damage this fragile ecosystem, and the potential for chemical contamination of this pristine, and landlocked body of water would be too great to risk.. Diesel electric trains hauling industrial material daily over these waters is problematic and dangerous. It is in the best interest of the entire population of the surrounding area to find alternative (albeit longer) rail routes connecting the port with other inland areas.

I fish these waters regularly and would hate any of environmental ecosystem be infringed uppon.

Please build this project directly alongside the existing 528 causeway so that no further damage is done to exisring seagrass beds..

Really? Another berm is not what the lagoon needs. It is a fragile ecosystem that needs help, not more clogged arteries.
