In total, some 45,168 whales have been killed throughout the last few years.

The poaching of whale is an extremely horrific experience for the whales. The poaching of whales is inhumane and cruel. Whales are a moving target, shot at from a moving vessel. Grenade harpoons are often used to kill whales forcing them to be subjected to a long, slow and painful death. Once on board the vessel the whales are slashed and beaten whilst bleeding out from wounds made by the shooters hunting the whale. slowly dying the whale cries out for help as the next whale is pulled aboard the vessel.
