Stop the Passing Sales Tax Law for Online Businesses
It’s time that online businesses and Internet buyers unite to stop the pending act requiring online companies to pay taxes for their every transaction. The current e-commerce tax law prevents states from collecting taxes to businesses operating on the Internet, except for those with stores or offices on the states where items are shipped. With this, buyers can enjoy tax free shopping online, also allowing businesses, especially starters and small companies to be competitive in the market.
They can adjust their prices to attract buyers while still earning. But with the pending tax law, they will be forced to add sales tax on their items, thus increasing the price. One of the reasons why buyers do online shopping is because most of the items are cheaper compared to the local stores as they are tax free and many of the sellers do not have a store or office to maintain, thus passing the savings to the buyers.
