Attention Gary Bettman, Donald Fehr, Owners, players and the NHLPA: We, those who have added our names and comments to this petition, demand that you iron out your differences immediately and do not cancel or postpone the upcoming 2012-13 NHL season. Two work stoppages between 1994 and 2004 are two too many as it is. An entire lost season in 2004 was one full season too many!

As of now, we the fans will not spend any money on NHL-approved or -authorized merchandise, and those of us who are season-ticket holders are planning as of now to not renew our tickets! There are those of us who have spent money on merchandise and/or advance tickets to individual games who either have already or plan to return said products to point of purchase and withhold our hard-earned money unless and until the threat of a lockout or work stoppage has been eliminated.

Should the season itself be delayed, you can expect us fans to boycott games en masse once an abbreviated season commences! IT WILL NOT BE LIKE LAST TIME!!! We will NOT return to the game in droves like the sheep you treat us as and apparently assume us to be.

The last CBA was created mainly at the behest of the owners who so obviously cannot be trusted to properly conduct business! Now, you owners want that which you desired to be in place re-done to better control yourselves! GET A GRIP!!!!

Meeting twice in 8 days for no more than 3 hours will NOT fix your problems! If you have to - and you DO have to - meet EVERY DAY, TWELVE HOURS A DAY to get this problem fixed so the fans and arena employees are NOT affected by this!!

Fair warning: League revenues will shrink, not grow unlike last time when revenues soared from $2.2 BILLION dollars to $3.3 BILLION dollars! WE WILL STAY AWAY - to show our displeasure, our solidarity, and our commitment to sanity in the game we love dearly! Stop being greedy billionaire owners and greedy millionaire players and get back to the only good reason to play hockey: FOR THE LOVE OF THE GAME!!!
