In 6 days, the Newark City Council will vote on an ordinance that would effectively ban Uber from Newark. This ordinance would make it impossible for Uber driver-partners to afford to do business in the City of Newark, at Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR) and at Newark Penn Station.
Not only does this result in hefty fees for current Uber drivers, it also means no more safe, affordable, reliable and convenient Uber rides to and from Newark airport and Newark Penn Station for those who travel frequently for business or leisure.
Please sign this petition to tell Newark Mayor Ras Baraka and the Newark City Council that we need and rely on Uber in Newark, NJ and we want Uber to stay!

Banning Uber is a huge inconvenience for those of us who travel frequently out of EWR. Last year, I experienced a TERRIFYING late-night cab ride out of EWR after returning from my last international business trip. After that ride, I vowed to never leave EWR very late at night in anything other than an Uber again! To me, this is not just about convenience -- it is about safety.
Leave Uber alone!
Who voted for Ras Baraka and these councilman?? In preach them like Iceland
Newark cabs are terrible and over priced. I have been roped off by drivers on two separate avails. Uber is much better and therefore why so many of us use the system. Do not institute a ban or will fly to JFK instead.
I am a frequent traveler for my work and use Uber in order to get to and from the airport. This is not acceptable.
it should be a crime to ban uber!
Uber makes sense and employs thousands of NJ and Newark drivers. Newark needs Uber!!

Before uber, I used to have to pay over $50 for a 15 minute cab ride. Adding $100 to any trip for ride that short is ridiculous. Stop trying to gouge the residents of NJ!
