General complaint with the expenditure being the same despite eating habits, removal of TerpBucks, removal of carry out options.

this dining plan hurts way more than it helps! Using terp bucks helps us avoid having to eat terrible diner food all of the time!

With the new plan, you pay the same amount as everyone else even if you do not eat at the dining halls often. At least now, you can spend the remaining points on family and guests, but with the new plan, you basically just waste your extra meals.

I don't like this plan, points are good for watching how much you're eating

Im a vegetarian but with the new dining plan I'll have to pay the same price as all other students when i can't eat half the food in the dining hall. And not having carry out is a huge inconvenience!

This plan is horribly detrimental to the flexibility provided with the current plan. Additionally, there has been little chance for the students to voice their thoughts on this plan before the change was announced. The student council was asked to keep news of these changes from the students until the official announcement, and now we have no chance at referendum.

They really didn't come up with an effective take out system, which comprises 99% of my current meals.

Keep the dining plan as is. Why change what works?

I experienced a meal plan that was similar to this one at another university. The other one was terrible, frustrating, and inconvenient. I'd very much rather things stay how they are.

The dining halls will not be able to accommodate all of the students that need to eat. The lack of a bucks system will cause the convenience stores to lose a lot of business. Additionally, it's understandable that the University wants to eliminate waste by getting rid of take out, but there's no reason to eliminate Ozzi boxes, which are sustainable and reusable in the first place.

I'm paying so much money for the dining plan and now I can't even share it with other people. Also, I don't always feel like eating in the dining halls, or I don't have the time. Take-out is very convenient.

Eating every meal at the dining hall can be very inconvenient. Eliminating takeout and terpbucks will make it harder for students on the go to get meals in. Also, as someone that buys a partial Hillel plan, this new plan means I'll be paying more for more meals in the dining hall thatI won't be using.

Carry-out is incredibly important. Like many other students, I do not have the time to sit down and eat a meal in the diner. Taking away the carry-out option means that I will most likely go without lunch during the day, which will make me unable to function at my full potential in the classroom.

As a student with a busy schedule this semester, there many times when I'm eating at strange times or when I simply do not have time to stay at the diner. In addition, there should not be any additional cost to keep the same number of TerpBucks that we already have. These bucks are an essential part of almost every on-campus freshman and sophomore's plans for snacks and drinks; if UMD raises the price on these items many will not buy them, causing UMD to lose money and the students to lose an essential part of their purchasing power.
