The name is lovely I’ve lost count how many families have said there children are excited to walk “the fairy path”. Plenty of paths in Maryport that could carry the sign of Prince Phillip.

I don't think prince Philip would particularly want a fairy path named after him to be fair!!!

I love the Royal Family but agree that this has nothing to do with them. Find something more appropriate to put his name too

I'm now in my 60s and it's always been the fairy path. Don't change what works for Maryport.

Sorry but nothing against the royal family but I am a cumbrian, lived in Maryport, used this path as a kid and the name should not be changed. Some things should stay as they have always been known.

This has always been known as the fairy path, for as long has i can remeber. Why is it even been considered a name change?? To someone whom never even set foot on it shamefull.
