The school administration has officially reversed the requirement for mandatory logo-branded skirts and trousers. This outcome ensures that families will retain the ability to purchase more affordable uniform options. Thank you for your commitment to keeping school costs reasonable.

At a time of financial pressure for most the school is introducing compulsory skirts and trousers with school logos. These are up to three times the cost of plain black or grey. The school has become an academy and some change was expected (and there is a transition period with the old uniform) but between £15/20 for one skirt or trousers is a step to far.

I have been reviewing the comments left by families regarding the financial burden imposed by these new uniform requirements. The stories detailing the difficulty of meeting these costs are essential to our case. I am currently preparing to present this feedback to the administration to demonstrate the scale of the community concern.

The pricing is diabolical. What difference is a logo going too make to a child's education or how smart they look. trousers and pencil skirts are also not inclusive to many children nor comfortable but for them to be doubled in price because of a small amount of stitching is absurd.

School identity is important, but insisting all items of clothing carry the logo is nothing but profiteering. Enforcing a single supplier of said clothing is creating a monopoly helping to reinforce the high uniform prices.

Don't want the school logo on the trousers, would be better if we could get the pants from asda as they will be a wider fit for my son I had to repair the last pants as they split down the side

If it is that important that the school have the logo on the uniform, why not sell iron on logo's that people can add to thier existing clothing. You have to recognise that £15-20 is a massive expense for some families, and one that many will struggle to fund. Find a better, more inclusive way, please!

Sorry...but we are mostly a one income family... I can only work during the summer and with 3 kids to buy for your uniform will be the most expensive. I thought academy status was to help those in socially deprived areas not add to their woes

Close to £200 to kit one child out for starting high school!!! Pe kit £98 not including foot wear!!!! Like that isn't enough for parents to stress over now the school want to charge £20 for a single pair of pants!!!! When my son will at least need 3 to see him through the week. Outrageous

I agree absolutely ridiculous the price to pay for skirts and trousers with school logo on, times are hard for most of us at the moment without extra financial pressure, i feel for the parents that have more that one child to pay out for.

Stop making the cost of school uniform more than it needs to be.
