I agree with the comments made by the family. Once a person is laid to rest, then let them rest and for statutory bodies respect the dead and the wishes of the family.

This is so cruel and unnecessary. That grave is clearly very loved and looked after and that young boy should be left to rest in peace not have his grave pulled apart. Absolutely disgusting to expect anyone to do this to a family members grave.

The rules are clear about this as prior to buying the burial plot you have to sign a contract stating you will abide by the rules. I have a family plot in Blaris and clearly stars headstone only, if family not happy with this then they should have bought a plot elsewhere were this was allowed. No consideration was given to the other surrounding graves when this was put up, they broke the rules and therefore they should have to take it down

This is a disgraceful ruling by Lisburn and Castlereagh council. It's a child's grave. That's kept immensely clean and tidy. The family have paid for the plot and has been like this for 6 years now. Resources would be used better to clean the rest of the graveyard instead of going on a witch hunt against this family.
I put it it to the Lisburn Council that they are blatantly rascist and sectarian in this ruling.

It has been up six years so it should stay. The family payed for the plot they should be able to put t up their choice of headstone it's well keep not like some other's.
