Florida’s important Tax Credit Scholarship is under attack by several organizations that opposed educational choice, including the Florida Education Association (the state’s largest teacher union), the Florida School Boards Association, the Florida PTA, the Florida Association of School Administrators, the Florida NAACP and the League of Women Voters of Florida.

These groups are suing to eliminate the Tax Credit Scholarship, which has done so much good for so many children.

These groups don’t seem to care that the scholarship has been around for 13 years and there are 68,000 students who would be yanked out of their scholarship schools, where things are going well.

They seem more concerned about putting these children back in the public school system than about whether these children are actually learning. They think this program takes money from them, but they overlook the fact that it is not a government-funded program. Tax-credit scholarship programs allow businesses to claim tax credits for donations made to state-approved organizations, which then provide money for eligible students to use toward tuition at private schools.

The scholarship program is helping some of the poorest children in our state, and their parents deserve to have an option. If you qualify, you should have the choice to send your child to a school of your choice through a scholarship funded by donations.

Don't let these special-interest groups take this scholarship away from our children!!
