This scholarship is everything to some families. It gives us hope that our children can thrive in society with an excellent education behind them. We are often our children's first teachers and to take something so meaningful away is like telling them that their education isn't an important and valuable tool in life. The children are our future Doctors,Lawyers, and Professors. If we bring them up the right way they will never depart. I strongly feel that often times it takes a village to raise a child. If we bond our heads together and come up with a better way to find money instead of cutting away from a child's education just maybe, just maybe our kids can have a future!

Keep the program. Allows me to place my child in the religion base education that I was raised with. Allows for my family to have choices on what and how my hold is taught.

I support the Step Up for Students Scholarship program. I have two grandchildren that are attending a private Christian school and are benefitting in both education and moral character.

These scholarships are an absolutely amazing opportunity for these children. My two kids have been on the scholarships since they started kindergarten and I KNOW that they would not be the kind, sweet, caring and intelligent children they are today if they had been forced into the public school system. The public school system is a corrupt bureaucracy and these members of the union are deathly afraid that their positions will be in danger from this scholarship program and other new programs like charter schools. It's not about funds being taken from public schools, there are numerous studies that show the tax credit scholarship children cost the taxpayer significantly less than a pubic school child. This is all about a corrupt and wholly ineffective system feeling threatened by the good this scholarship does. My kids learn cursive and other things public schools don't even teach anymore. I would venture that my fourth grader would show up most kids in fifth grade in any standardized test. The benefits for my children have been amazing and to take them from their school and shove them into the vicious public school system would destroy every value I've strived so hard to instill in them, not to mention their innocence. In fact if the scholarships were shut down I would home school them both before I even thought about public school...It's simply not an option in my opinion. I was home schooled until eighth grade and sent to public high school where I was so far advanced that it was unreal. I could compete a six week project in three hours and receive an a with ease. But the social pressures of that public school utterly ruined me and turned me into something awful for my teenage years. I'd say it ruined my life in fact. I wish I had never went. Don't take our scholarships for you know your system is a failed mess and you fear the loss of the nightmare it's become. Instead of focusing on eliminating our scholarships, why not focus on fixing a system that is broken

Public school failed my children for years. Last year I was able to place them in the school of my choice, they are now performing at grade level. Thank goodness for Step Up!

#team STEP-UP for STUDENTS The best thing that has ever happened to my boys was removing them from a public school to a private school with a much better education and more hands on learning techniques..

The state if Florida public school system is deplorable. Step Up For Students is an amazing program. Many families have benefited from these scholarships. It would be a severe disgrace to these children and their families to remove this program.

My children have had step up for student scholarships since 2011. They would be so devastated if they had to go to public school now. We depend on the scholarship due to being a very low income family. We appreciate every single year that both children can continue their private education because of what theses scholarships do! Thank you!

This scholarship has been a blessing to my family. It has allowed me to place my children in a better environment for learning and other things. It has allowed my son who is A.D.H.D to have classrooms and one on one help that meets his needs. It also allows him to have more speech therapy and tutoring unlike when he was in public school and had to fight for him to be evaluated and still get no help until the last week's of the public school days. This scholarship has allowed me to provide a better future for my children on my low income salary so I could give my children a better chance in life then I had. It would be a devastation to take that away...

It's my right to choice what is best for my child! The scholarship allows me to have my child in a school where she is finally getting the help she needs and she is thriving!
