The groups suing do not seem to realize that eliminating the scholarship program would cause a large number of students to go into already overcrowded public schools and that the cost to school districts and the state would skyrocket. This is not a government funded program, and public schools would not necessarily receive enough money to offset more expense.

Those fighting against this program have one interest in mind, and I can tell you now, its not children, or the parents who CHOOSE to send them to a participating school. They should be ashamed of themselves.

This scholarship is such a big help it would be horrible to get rid of something that helps so many students and families.

I do not mind paying income taxes which includes taxes that support the local public education as long as I am allowed to choose whether or not I wish to pay extra so that my children have and pursue other opportunities not restricted to my residential address or demographics.

This scholarship gives my daughter opportunity to go a great school when the other schools in my area are just awful. She is so happy in her school and learning more the I can imagine . If this scholarship is taken away from our children their education could be effected.

I attended this school as a child, and I want my daughter to benefit from this education. SUFS is the only way I can do it.

Getting rid of this program does nothing to help children. Quite the opposite in fact. They know that and would like to see it destroyed for political reasons. In other words they are acting in their own self interests and pretending that it is the kids they are protecting. Disgusting.

This scholarship is very important for our students due to the fact than 90 percent of our families here depend on this scholarship. Many families here are needy families and sacrifice many things to provide a great education for their children.

This is a very helpful and beneficial scholarship. It would be a detriment to a lot of children who can't get the education they need. It's not like the public schools are hurting for children, they're overcrowded as it is. My child needed a smaller environment with the great education and I want the choice.

Our school is a Christian school located in Homestead, FL. We serve 120 children from one of Miami-Dade County’s neediest communities. 92% of our students attend the TCCA on scholarship through the Step-Up for Students or McKay Scholarship Program. For our families the median household income is approximately 19K a year, below the state average. We understand the challenges they face in finding quality education institutions in our community. Step Up For Students has given our families hope as they can ensure the safety and education of their children. Without the support of Step Up For Students they will be unable to provide a good education for their children in a private school setting.
