It is a shame they try to take away the schlorship to help parents pay for a decent education for their children. I hope and pray Step up for Students resume. I vote YES keep it going....

My child was awarded a scholarship when the public schools would not complete enrollment (due to a divorce and waiting on a signed injunction). The public school principal informed me that it was only kindergarten and it would not matter if he started late. This scholarship saved him from being behind his entire school career.

My daughter never got her scholarship. We waited and waited for it. Please, I'm a single mother without any support.

Please don't discontinue this program! Not all students do well in a public school setting, this scholarship is important to Florida families!!

The only way for impoverished youth to get the same education as entitled children with wealthy parents is through programs such as this. Please don't put these children at more of a disadvantage by closing this program. Give my children a better chance than I got...have a consience and a heart and imagine your fortune being lost in a depression and yhink how you would feel. I work 2 jobs and can barely keep a roof and food. How much harder can I work?

Someone shouldn't have to miss the opportunity for private education over money.

Schools in this country started all to teach the word of God, now they are trying to make all tax paying and living citizens in Florida to follow an atheistic curriculum and environment. The choice of where to be educated, religiously or not, should be with the parents and taking away the religious school choices is not giving every child an equal opportunity to be educated with respect to families rightful choices to decide.

Tax Credit Scholarships are a right so all children can receive an equal yet unbiased education. Florida not allowing a Tax Credit Scholarship that allows school choice especially for a religious based and minority population would take away the right have our children educated in an equal environment that is a right for all children. in the state. Furthermore, parents who choose to use tax credit scholarships live, pay taxes and contribute to Florida and have a right to choose where their child is educated such as with the Tax Credit Scholarship, giving them an right to have their child just as equally educated and in an environment that is based on a families rightful choices.
