Many non-governmental and human right organizations were reporting about the brutality of the Ethiopian government for the last 27 years. But still the Ethiopian government is one of the major recipients of not only of financial aid but also military training and hardware from United States Government and European union , which the regime does not hesitate to use against our people.

More than 25 people were killed on Saturday January 20, 2018 in Woldia town in northern Ethiopia as TPLF security forces shot live fire at people gathered to celebrate the annual Ethiopian Orthodox Epiphany.

The youth in Woldia, known for their strong display of defiance against the TPLF, were chanting songs denouncing the regime when the forces rained bullets on them on one of the holiest days for the Orthodox christians on Saturday. Several people have reportedly been taken to the hospital sustaining gunshot wounds, some with serious injuries.

Gruesome pictures of the dead were shared instantly on social media.

Roads leading in and out of the town remain shut on Sunday, according to sources who also said students of Woldia University were prevented from leaving their campus to join residents in the protest.

Anti-regime protests at the Woldia University turned deadly last month when security forces shot and killed four students. The students were denouncing the killing of two students from the Amhara region at the Adigrat University in Tigray.

January 25, 2018 Tigrayan soldiers of the TPLF and soldiers from other ethnic groups within the army have exchanged fire in Kobo town, where 9 protesters were killed also the resident says the army using fire by helicopter to disperse the crowd.

The sources said non-Tigrayan soldiers within the army have refused to use deadly force against protesters in the town of kobo which angered the Tigrayan commanders.

Other sources, mainly on social media, add that there is a heavy military presence in Kobo.

Kobo is 50 Kilometers north east of Woldia where TPLF regime forces unleashed a brutal attack on residents who were on the religious festival, Kanazegelia, last Saturday and killed many civilians including a nine years old boy. It is located on the way to Tigray. we don't yet forget the recent IRRECHA massacre, the ethnic cleansing of WOLQAYT region the killing of students in BAHERDAR and AMBO and other universities all over the country.

With this petition we would like to ask you,

to urge the Ethiopian government to stop killing unarmed civilians and students across the country.
