I lived on the Island many years ago but some of my family remains there. As the then only local midwife I frequented many homes where a "crop" was always growing in the green house or out in the wood. It s presence often increased the stress with in the family, but remained a home grown product for it 's multiple benefits. Imagine if for those famijlies the porduct could have been safely sown grown harvested and sold? What a benefit for that family and all the others involved. I was thrilled when I saw the support generated in SJ County for the leagalization of pot and for theability of those who havebeengrowing to finally beableto utiloze their skills and tallentsandfind an additonalway to provideincome for this family and for those who wouldwork for themaswell. Imagine my surprise and disdain as thosewhovoted yessuddenly were against the building ofgreenhouses in their neighborhood. Yet those greenhouses provide income to the islamd no based on tourism not based on outside influences so the money earnedgoesout sidethe Island but remain right thereat home. Money for schools money for roads . Can you honestly tell me that the Island cannot use that money? Can you tellme thta the schools wouldnot benefit form that increased tx income? Seriosly /Really I had 5 children in your school system I have 2 grandchilddren in your school system I driveyour roads . This is not a new product to the Islands. When were greenhouses something to outlaw? Do you buy flowers for your honey on valentines day orwhen a friend or loved one is in the hospital? Do you eattomatoes in the winter? Where do they grow whenthesun is low in the sky and the air below 50 degrees? Reaction is born of fear mindful action is called for and a moritorium now after all tht ais passed is a reaction based on fear .Ta

I support medical marijuana vs recreational marijuana, but if it is legal and people will be spending their money on it, why not keep the money local?
