I will do everything in my power to change this epidemic and save anyone I possibly can . I lost the love of my life a week ago to heroin and along with my mother to addiction . I never want families to have to go through what I went through .

This drug has cost my daughter custody if her son and she has flatlined twice. Thanks to Narcan and thanks be to God, she is here and sober. But life is a struggle. She carries all the shame that hoes along with.
Addiction has torn our small family completely apart. Siblings have quit speaking. Parents have quit speaking as there's always that one parent who feels the need to lay blame somewhere.
Please give our police officers the tools and training to get these dealers off the street and our law changed to prosecute to the fullest extent so they are gone for a long time!!

Our children need help, they are dying from this epidemic. Heroin is too easy to get and it is almost impossible to get treatment once addicted unless you have excellent insurance or big money.

It is a National epidemic. We need more governing over doctors prescribing opiate based pain killers where Tylenol is warranted. Special treatment facilities that actually provide a recovery program and not just a dispensary. We need to get to the source of the problem. Yes, it starts with a choice but quickly becomes a very demanding demon. An epidemic that takes a life every other day in this country. We need awareness programs for the general population that believe it's not their problem. Well, the guy that just caused a major accident on the highway just shot-up while driving down the road next to you. It is everyone problem and we need take the blinders off and help those that need the help.

Dealers, not the desperate addict trying to support a habit. Our children need help beating this epidemic. Not just locking them up. I pray we will look at other states offering immunity and rehab instead of incarceration. Most want help but have no options to get it. 85 deaths in cherokee county in 2015. I personally think that number is low as many aren't reported correctly. Help our communities!
