Any petition to prevent unjustified charges by SRBC. They still owe my other half £3537.51 for overpayments of Council tax.

Digusting -- only the ''buffoons'' at highland council could invent such an absurd way to handle this. No prizes for guessing what will happen, and it will, more fly tippers and who will have to clear up the mess, yes, The Council, which will cost a lot more in the long term. No forward thinking, have those clowns got an IQ of 2.5 or what. Pathetic.

This charge makes no sense, isn't the waste composted then sold as soil improver? Are there concerns that this waste will be put in the grey bins and so add to landfill problems the service was introduced to tackle?

We can fill our brown bin every week but it only gets collected every fortnight and thats before picking up and leaves from the trees in the street.

Charging will only drive people to fill their grey bins with garden waste. This will make recycling harder and more costly.

As it stands, this is a disproportionate and inequitable proposal. It might be more cceptabe if related to the number of times green waste was collected from a household but in the absence of clearer financial information to justify the charge should continue to be opposed.
