Are we living under Hitler's rule?! People with disabilities are people too. Not only that, they need extra care and compassion. The last thing these special people and their families need is an extra burden. We can argue about how funding could/shpuld be used but this shouldn't even be a discussion. Shame....

My name is levonne tumangi my daughter is one of the children this is going to affect. We do not have a wheelchair van to take her daily. We live on 1 income with the minimal amount of money from centrelink. I am very hurt and disappointed at our government as i feel after living in this country for the last 34 yrs watching money go to all the wrong places and cutting the funding where families need it most. I wish each politician had or raised or even look after a disabled child like my daughter for a week and I guarentee you your outlook would be different. What happens to those family with a single parent and no money to send on a taxi. what about those families with no car at all. what about the health and safety and just some sort of quality of life. Its bad enough our kids suffer in life in general to then be made to suffer by not being able to attend school or be part of the community activites through school. And how am i to afford a taxi at cheapest quote $125 per week. and yet there are a police reports of sexual abuse by taxi drivers 12 counts in 1 trial at the moment. what medical qualifications do they have? police checks? working with childrens check? first aid certified. my list and concerns go on. why cant you politicans cut your funding on your meal allowances, travel allowances, hotel flights and much more. please contact me as i have a hell of alot more to say

Don't expand the suffering, keep funding to help the disadvantaged. Stop the funding of past politicians who get funding till they die.

It's ridiculous. I understand that there needs to be financial prudence, but we SHOULD NOT be taking from our most vulnerable members of society.

Shame on you, Yooralla! What a heartless, dispicable decision. You have no idea of the pain and distress you are causing those that need your help the most.

Why do we see so much funding and priveliges taken from the needy? If anything, they should be receiving more adequate funding. Why must the needy beg for crumbs while politicians and their cohorts enjoy countless luxuries on top of their already exorbitant pay checks? Get your priorities straight, for the love of human decency.

As parents of our late son Craig who attended First Base noble Park for many happy years, we both know how important is was for him to be involved with the various activities and interaction with all the clients and staff at the Base was for him.

This is disgusting and has to be stopped. These parents need some time to themselves or to work, and not all of them can afford a taxi every day or the petrol there and back everyday.

I am a disability pensioner and understand the importance of day programs, and impact these activities have on the lives of participants - please make it a priority to continue them and not limit transport options!
