I listened to the disgraceful responses from Bobby Hunter in the Radio Shetland interview this evening - he and the directors of SLAP should resign.

Successful and well established local firms shouldn't be put in this position.

Wicked behaviour from SLAP. Similar to the highland clearances, nasty landlord.

This ridiculous decision needs careful scrutiny as not accepting HNPs offer and putting a successful local business at risk and selling the site for "student halls" when close to the college is the norm ,smells a bit fishy to me !

This would be a great loss to the island community.

I served my apprentice ship and had nearly 12 happy years here before I moved on it would be criminal to let this happen as many good engineers started out their working life here.!!!

I find it hard to believe that there is no option other than to place this successful local firm in jeopardy.

Two points to make. 1) Student Halls should be near the college, on campus or in a residential area. Why not use Janet Courtney or Bruce Hostel, or any other soon to be empty, appropriate building. 2. Surely the whole ethos behind the Charitable Trust, which after all is the custodian of public money, is to create a sustainable econony which provides jobs and skills for local people in Shetland. How does evicting a successful company and employer from their premises, forcing them to sell their building and relocate, match this ethos. This is the kind of unethical behaviour that you might expect from some of the less savoury elements of the private sector, not the Public Sector, which in theory should be run by democratically elected citizens who are supposed to represent and care for the community.

A disgrace, leave HNP as they are! A business like this should be supported, not threatened.
