This is totally ridiculous. SLAP need to stop this now before it goes any further. The HNP fully deserve to stay where they are.

HNP are a hard working, long established business, with loads of well established engineers, both in Shetland and world wide having been trained there. S.L.A.P state they have given them plenty of help with relocation, but they omit to say none of the sites they suggested are either viable for the business or are even available.

This is an outrageous abuse of power and position by SLAP and its boardmembers which completely disregards local industry and community. Judging by local reports they should be ashamed of their unethical and bullying behaviour.

SLAP needs to look at the this more carefully they are going to remove a company who have been based on the premises for over 30 years. HNP is providing jobs and work for a lot of shetlanders. It isn't logical to sell the premises to a company from south who will not be in Shetland for very long. Why does UHI not get a local Shetland firm to build halls of residence? To me this doesn't make sense, the council needs to think of the impact this could have on numerous Shetlanders and put themselves in their position!!

Shetland needs to keep all it's work force intact, not forcing companies into the corner. I don't know the full story about the terms of the lease, but I'm sure something can be done to take away this pressure on the workers.
