Women and Violence is an essential course offered through the Women and Gender Studies program at Wilfrid Laurier University. This course increases awareness about the prevalence of violence facing women in our society. Having taken this course, I, myself, have increased my knowledge and ability to take action against violence in my community. Each minute, women across the world are being violated, raped and killed but this is only something that we hear about very minimally due to media censorship and other patriarchal constraints. The Women and Violence course at Laurier provides students with non-biased information in an open and accepting environment. Without your help, this course will no longer be offered at Laurier next year!! Please sign this petition to stop further reduction of funding to the Women and Gender Studies department at WLU and the Women and Violence program.

Keep this course. Students need to learn about these issues if we ever want things to change.

Ridiculous that this is even a discussion. Keep the funding.

This course changed my perspective on so much. Its a huge loss for students if this is gone.

This class was a highlight of my degree. Why would they cut something so relevant?

Laurier needs to stop cutting funding to important programs. This is a bad move.
