Eliminating teachers positions and increasing the class sizes are not the answer to save money. Class sizes are already too large.With the elimination of 77.5 teaching positions our children's education environment will be affected, the learning and teaching environment.

To account for these cuts class sizes will be increased: by one student in Grades 4 to 6 — for a cap of 25 students: and two students in Grades 7 to 9, bringing those grades to a maximum of 29 students. Kindergarten through Grade 3 remain unchanged, while any elementary and intermediate multi-grade classes will increase by three students, to 18.

Any increase in class sizes and reduction of teachers in schools are going to negatively affect both the teaching and learning environment.
