Stop the DCDSB from moving our grade 7-8 Students to High School

I there, I am definitely not in support and we need numbers at the nov.24 at all saints at 7 pm. Here is another petition that has 346 signatures and it will be printed and sent to trustees. It is known in research the successful implementation of this depends on community support.

School used to be an institution for kids to grow, learn and mature...it's now just an assembling line and it seems the attitude is get then through faster. let our kids develope!

This is a horrible idea. Children in grade 7 and 8 are already vulnerable enough going through the early stages of puberty to be thrown into a setting with older grades. I personally would take my children out of the catholic school system if this occurs as I know my children are easily influenced and this would negatively affect their lives.

As a parent of children in the public system in Brooklin, I can tell you, our schools are full enough without adding transfers from the Catholic board. Why would you take children and put them in a school with Teenagers?! With full on drugs, alcohol, knives and everything else that goes along with that age and culture? As Parents we have enough to worry about when they actually get to that age/stage, and we have no other option but to pray we've taught them enough to get through, unscathed. But now you're asking parents to do this with 11-12 year olds instead of 13 year olds.
And you're supposed to be a religious bases institution!!!
Do what's right for the children. Not the bottom line.
Shame on you!

This is all around a negative impact in every way imaginable. So many issues can arise and go wayward if his change occurs.

Are children should not be put in this situation because of poor planning on the boards part. This solution is going to have a negative impact on our children. Our children are not pawns on chessboard. They also have feelings and worries in their young lives.... This will only add more for most of them as they need those extra few years of maturing to deal with the high school atomsphere.

Moving the grade 7's and 8's is fixing one problem but causing a lot more. The high school will be full and the elementary school will be way under capacity. There has to be a better solution than busing the Brooklin kids to Whitby.

They are playing with our children. This is not the proper solution to deal with the decline in enrollment in the two Whitby High Schools in the past 3 years. Find a better solution.
