The Progressive Conservative Government under the Leadership of Alison Redford, who while campaigning promised Albertan's that any cutbacks would not be on the backs of the disabled. She shook families hands, looked them in the eye and promised that their loved ones would be looked after. The PC government has now betrayed the trust given to them by those who voted for them. She is cutting millions up to 100 million has been projected. The government only admits to the public a 42 million dollar cut (which is too much). The truth is that so much more money is slotted to be cut from primary care services. Example: a 24 hour 53 year old female with developmental, physical, visual and communication disabilities with cuts will have 26 hours a month! This is a lady whom can't walk, clean, cook, bathe, dress, talk, deal socially, financially without supports by her side at all times! Example 2: A 52 year old male who lives in a 24 hour supported home, who has developmental disability as well as a mental illness will now be down to 0 hours and either placed (yes placed.. no choice) in a supported roommate situation or living independently. Please community members, fellow human beings be their voice, show your support and DO NOT LET THEM BECOME FACELESS in their communities!! 9 million dollars within the Northeast region (Fort Mac to Whitecourt and area) are being cut from primary care services, this is atrocious, appalling, outrageous, discrimination, abusive and down right dirty!!!! 9 million jobs also means 260 jobs being cut.
