Pip is already hard and stressful enough as it is to try to claim, and now they are making it even harder on those that rely on these benefits to get by. My son has Tuberous sclerosis epilepsy autism kidney and brain tumours and is 10 months in age mentally. He also has a bowel condition, my son has been through so much and has fought so hard to be here. I am angry and upset that these MPs who have no experience of raising a child like my son have the right to say what is and isn't a disability. So much stigma and bad press is handed to those who are claiming dla and pip. Yet no one bats and eyelid when the MPs get a raise. How is this fair? We have to come together and say this is not ok. Without dla my son wouldn't be able to get to and and from hospital appointments, our adapted vehicle is a lifeline to us like it is to many. To see your child on life support, to see them struggle to breathe, to see them drop and smash their face open, to have to spend half your time in hospital and will your child pull through. This is not the life I chose for my son yet I feel as if we are being punished. To put my son in care would cost them £350,000 a year. Dla is a very small amount of money to make life that little bit easier for families like ours. This takes minutes to put your name on here, but means everything to families like ours.
