I agree that it feels like being a child in a school to be tested. Our employers are well aware of our worth, no need to take away our family time even more. Also, we are paying a fair amount annually just like other trades, and they don't have to do anything other than pay their membership. For a trade that is knowingly underpaid as it is.

I agree that Professional Development is important. Alot of workplaces already hold their staff accountable for a certain amount of PD . I find the current CPL to be overwhelming and confusing. I have different children in my room every year and so the dynamic of the room and the skills I need to teach and support them change and vary. 3 goals is way to confusing and not efficient. 1 goal to work on , learn about and reflect on is supporting the development of that ataff way more rhan learning 3 things not so well.

I am not against Professional development, but the cpl procedure to follow from the handbook is too stressful and a lengthy procedure rather make it simple .

Working 8 hours a day, 2 hours of traveling back and forth to work , taking care of my family, my house chores, my mental health and etc. CPL is a lot of paper work to deal with. There is no time left to take care of ourselves and our family and live without stress after 8 hours work everyday, let alone doing CPL. this is strenuous..

The CPL and the College fees must be reviewed. The cost is going up but why? Where is the money going? Be transparent. RECEs are paid significantly less than teachers how can we afford to stay in the field? Yes, have continuous learning to ensure the profession has a standard but the current CPL is not sustainable. RECEs are mentally and financially exhausted.

we are required by our organization/employer to complete a MINIMUM of 12 hours a year of personal learning. Plus monthly pedagogical individual meetings & team meetings totaling another 2 hours a month. That's 36 MINIMUM hours a year of professional learning and enriching engagement. They track our professional learning goals each year as well as every single reflection from ANY professional learning - what we are required to do& supported to do by or organization for over a decade makes the cpl redundant. The time & money invested in CPL should go into fighting for this profession to be seriously recognized. The college should take a stand to minimize child care costs and pay fair and equitable wages & push for government funding or better yet to have us recognized as public EDUCATION. Stand up for your members, families & children.... don't put extra on top of the work we already do & recognize when professional learning is a REQUIREMENT for employment within organizations. This should count for something. We should be able to inform the college when professional learning is an employment requirement, this should count for something. It's trackable & we wouldn't be working without it. Signed : curious & engaged incredibly proud life long learner with Compass ELC.

We are already so underpaid and we work so hard. We also have our own families at home. Adding more work to the RECE blows my mind. We do trainings and continuous learning with our employers every year.

I was halfway through my education when I realized what a scam this is. We do not make enough money, nor have the time to do this CPL. Yes I believe in ongoing education, but that is a personal choice.
We are educated, yet low income, we work our tails off and burn out, yet receive 0 respect. The yearly fee is astronomical and the CPL is confusing, we receive no support, and we have to pay for continuing education.
I have never seen grosser misconduct by a body that's supposed to represent its members.
Considering leaving the field due to CECE.

I like taking courses or webinars that interest me not ones that have to pertain to the Code of Ethics. Finding the time in our busy lives to fill out on the information of the CPL takes so much time especially when we are busy with families and needing personal time just to destress. Especially in these times, it is all we can do to get through the day and support our families and make time for ourselves.
The fee is way to high and continues to go up. And if we get audited we take the risk of losing our degree in what we have worked several years in and if our CPL is not up to date.
I went to school and paid my tuition. That should be enough and if I want I can attend workshop that I would really like to do like new ideas for our classroom or centre’s that we work in. Our getting together with colleagues without writing everything down.

The fee is disproportionately high compared to the wages RECEs earn
