This species needs helping now. We understand little of the complex breeding cycle of this species so must protect it in the one location we properly understand and can control.

The environment agency should be ashamed. They sell licences to trap and export eels, when they are practically wiped out on most inland waters, then try to introduce otters, whose main diet is eels. Well done EA.
