Just where do they want our special citizens to go. There are no jobs in New York , so there will not be jobs for them.

We must not allow the closure of sheltered work facilities. It is NOT in the SPECIAL NEEDS individuals best interest!!

I think that sheltered workshops offer much to people w/disabilities and I think they should remain an option to them.

Sheltered workshops are necessary for many with disabilities. Please do a service the "least of these" and keep the centers open.

Having a brother that benefited by such workshops, I can attest to the value and need for facilities for those with developmental disabilities.

As a family member of an individual that receives services through the ARC work program, I urge you to rethink your decision. the ability to have some sort of independence and work experience my nephew has obtained is amazing. He has a larger sense of pride for himself and his accomplishments. This program is an important part of peoples lives. These special individuals have just as much right as you and I do. Please rethink your decision to close these work places.

My brother is thriving in a sheltered workshop. It gives him confidence and a purpose . We need to keep them open.

Please - don't do this. Please consider whatyou are consigning these people to - sitting in chair with no where to go and nothing to do.

How do you been personally involved in the observation of these workshops, I can attest that they are productive sites were individuals who are the sables can have a productive lifestyle.they are aware that their capabilities are not equal to the normal population. However they are proud of the fact that they can do work the other people appreciate. I

My daughter has loved working at her work center and misses this opportunity to feel pride in her accomplishments and excitement over her paycheck. She worked in an environment of emotional safety, and was very happy. She misses her work center terribly and it has left a void in her life. This is a travesty. If our vision is to achieve "people centered/ people come first" environment, why can't the "people" decide for themselves what they want to do with their lives. Work centers are crucial for many.
