We don't want increased traffic at lower Richmond road. It's solving one problem whilst creating another!!

I strongly object the proposal by closing the common road. There's no bus link between BARNES and Putney. And the bikes are already occupy all the main roads in the peak time. we should at least give car driving the same opportunity.

I use this road a tleast 6 or 7 times a week and significantly improve my travel time between rocks lane and Putney.

I use this road constantly as well as my parents. Closing Common Road will be a disaster. I am sure there is enough space on the common for a good size foot path and cycle lane!

I use this road every day on my school run with three/four children in my car. I have rarely if ever seen a cyclist using this road.

There is so much traffic already during rush hour and this road closure would make it even worse than it already it. It doesn't make sense to close common road to cars.

Our school heavily depends on this route in order to use sports facilities in Barns on a regular basis.

While I am all for cycle routes, this is an inappropriate location as it is a major artery for car traffic, particularly for children getting to and from their schools!

I live in St. Mary's Grove and use this route every day to get to Barnes. If this road was shut we would have much more traffic on the already busy Queen's ride and with a new school opening soon just down the road it will get even worse.

The closure of common road would significantly increase congestion in the area. Thanks

Sir/Madam, this route is crucial for links with Putney & Barnes - there isn't even a bus route. Businesses & schools are going to suffer as many adults/children come from SW13 to SW15 and vice versa and therefore cause added stress to the journey. Thank you Kate Prest

Dear Sir/Madam, I am the managing director of Best Tennis Ltd at Barn Elms Sports ground. This road is used by myself on a daily basis along with all of our staff and a very large proportion of our players. The traffic on Upper Richmond Road is always heading to the East Sheen area. To have to wait to turn right towards Barnes all the way up to the Red Rover traffic lights is just unnecessary and will cause further congestion. Please consider this factor when making this change. Regards, Philip

Without Commin Rd there will be greatly increased traffic on rocks lane to Red Rover junction causing much greater delays for both Putney, sheen and Roehampton bound traffic. Greatly increased journey time to schools in Putney area for Barnes residents and for Putney residents coming to Barnes schools. Less incentive for Putney, sheen, Roehampton residents to use Barnes sports facilities and shops. And there's just no need to close it! It works fine and is certainly more essential since the closure of Dryburgh lane in rush hour some years ago.
