I live in Burleson but ride the TT regularly. We don’t need any more traffic.

The bridge is not necessary as emergency response times are already in an acceptable range. The Benbrook police conducted a drive test WITHOUT emergency lights and sirens and recorded drive times ranging from 7-9.4 minutes. Given these tests were conducted with no lights and sirens, the observed times are likely higher than actual emergency response times would be. Compare those to the actual average emergency response times posted by various North Texas police departments (see below).

A one-way bridge is for emergencies. There is no hurry to return from a fire, accident or ambulance ride to the nearest hospital.
A one-lane bridge could easily become a two-lane bridge if emergency vehicles can cross Clear Fork both ways. Are the response times based upon normal traffic or those supported by sirens, emergency traffic light changes and Texas law? Citizens who oppose this unilateral action by the Benbrook Council should "follow the money." Who will profit from a deal where meetings are closed to the those impacted by this decision? The bridge is not needed since there is major highway that crosses the river within a short distance from both of the proposed Locations.
