Clayton County Board of Health is unique; it serves more of an urban/ metropolitan community along with busiest airport in the world and would not be a good fit with the mostly rural counties served by the leadership the LaGrange District. The staff at Clayton County Board of Health reflects the demographic of community and many have served the community for years and decades in addition to living and raising their families in Clayton County. What Clayton County Board of Health needs is a strong director who will lead them solidly into the future, not by punishing the very dedicated staff who kept the ship afloat during the turbulent season of events that were not in their control. They deserve raises and awards for continuing to serve the community well in trying circumstances.

I am Clayton County resident who disagrees with the merger of Clayton County Board of Health with the Lagrange Health District. I have several concerns and how this will affect residents. How will it affect the delivery of services? Will we be losing programs or community relationships? How will it affect the accessibility of district staff to Clayton County? How well versed is Lagrange Health District knowledgeable of the culture of Clayton County and the needs that impact the community? Will staff lose their jobs with this merger? What if coronavirus hit Clayton County who will take care of residents here? These are all important questions that need to be asked. Why isn’t this issue being broadcast on the news? Why isn’t this petition listed on the county website?

I would like to see Clayton County do the job that they supposed to do by taking care of the kids implementing the programs and the funds that benefit the kid and not funds for political game.
