Cutting service out or in some cases in two may serve commuters in Burtonsville and Bethesda but throws many in the immediate Silver Spring area under the bus. There must be a better way to expand service to a FLASH line and lessen the amount of single occupant cars during high traffic times than doing what has been proposed.

I am an older citizen who requires bus service to get around. Sometimes it takes me 1 1/2 hours to get where I am going. Driving took me 1/2 hour. Forcing me back into a car will surely cause more accidents.

I strongly oppose this proposed $35 million dollar cut because of impact upon citizens we go depend heavily upon this transportation.

Tax the negative externalities of driving, and you'll find more than enough money to run buses.

I live inside the beltway off 29 and always walk or take a bus to the SS metro station. The MoCo Flash BRT will not stop inside the beltway so any reduction of service for the Z line will make it more difficult for close-in residents.

So many people rely on buses. We need these routes. Cutting bus lines makes it even harder to get around. We should be improving bus service with bus-only lanes to attract *more* riders, not cutting routes altogher!

Extraordinarily counterproductive. Penny wise and pound foolish. Think congestion, pollution, reducing the ability of modest income to get to work. Stop the bus cuts!

Transportation is now the largest contributor to US greenhouse gas emissions. Buses can help address this problem, while also providing affordably mobility for everyone.

These proposed bus cuts create a "no man's land" for bus service in my neighborhood. We bought our house here because we two parents depend on these bus lines for daily commutes. Our kids need them, too. If you take away these buses, you actually force onto the road MORE cars operated by stressed commuters and young, inexperienced drivers. Terrible plan.

How can someone propose to cut bus lines when we should be increasing the number of lines?

We picked our house on Franklin because of the 14 routes. The proposed cuts are ludicrous and short sighted.

Public transportation needs more not less support, particularly on these main lines.

Transit, and especially busses, are absolutely essential to lowering climate-changing emissions and providing transportation to the working class. Public transit should be high quality, dependable, and FREE for all to ride. Taxing the wealth of the super-rich, forcing employers to subsidize transit, radically changing wasteful car-centric land use, and disincentivising auto use as stranded assets will make this possible.

Until the purple line is finished, these routes are necessary to get to the Northwest DC/Bethesda/Chevy Chase area.
