We, the undersigned, are residents of Glencairn Avenue and surrounding area. The #14 bus currently ceases operation at 10 pm each night. We are opposed to the increased running of the Glencairn #14 TTC bus until 1am every night, which is scheduled to commence on September 6, 2015. Glencairn is predominantly a residential area with many residents having young families. The sound of the busses running, stopping and starting, and beeping when lowering are all extremely loud and makes it difficult to fall asleep as well as wakes us up in the middle of the night severely disrupting our ability to have a decent night’s sleep. Prior to 2011, the Glencairn #14 bus ran until 1am. We watched empty or nearly empty buses pass our houses until 1am. This was a huge waste of TTC and taxpayer money. In 2011, we brought this issue to Josh Colle and he was sympathetic to our concerns. Ultimately, the route was reduced and stopped at 10 pm. We don’t expect that there will be any increased ridership as a result of the increase in the operation of this route. This is clearly a case of inconveniencing the many residents of the area while servicing a tiny minority (if any) of people actually using the bus.

We are asking that the Glencairn #14 route stop running at 10 pm at the latest as opposed to 1am.
