Concerned parent? Volunteer. Advocate for the kids after you have been there to see what's going on. We need parents to do there part in keeping their kids in line. Most bullying happens at home through social media and the like then the kids go to school to fight it out. Teachers advocate for the innocent but are tied down by laws and procedures that protect the children from being unfairly accused. I agree things have to change. But change comes from a community coming together not from petitions and the media.
Is anyone here a parent volunteer at this school? If not find some time to get involved and help. The school reflects its community.
As a parent I hear how teachers are verbally attacked and threatened by students but are powerless to do anything about it. It's not just the kids. It's teachers too. But if the community can come together we can can help make a change. Be part of the solution not just a bystander commenting and criticizing. Know what your kids are doing and what social media sites they are on.
In this age of technology cyber bullying is primary mode of bullying and a serious concern. Be a present parent and guardian in your kids lives and help out in the school. I for one plan to show my support. Beginning with showing up to parent conference night and getting to know the teachers. Parent conference night FYI is this coming Monday. Show up at 4pm.
Ps: please make sure you understand the definition of bullying and ensure that that is exactly what is happening.
I believe that bullying is happening at this school and I believe many teachers the school are trying their best to prevent it but they are not being supported. However it's up to the higher ups to do what they need to do.

This should never be a problem for kids going to school. If the adults at the schools can't or just won't do their job let them go. Kids continue to do this because they get away with it.

My daughter attended 8th grade at Shields Middle School. She was bullied and had her life threatened. She was afraid to go to school. This is a very important petition. Please sign.

This breaks my heart. My nephewson went there a few years ago go and sways talked shout the drugs and bullying. Makes me sad to see they are allowing this to happen.
