I am disheartened to see not just the rapid expansion of residential housing clearing land in Wakulla, but also the quality of the housing being built. It’s an eye soar to see quarter acre lots barren of foliage scattered in what used to be wooded or ranch land. I see marsh land for sale on Wakulla reality sites and the more that’s bought up and cleared the less Wakulla, Wakulla becomes. We pride ourselves on being a place of natural beauty and “the real Florida”. How much longer can we hold this title? The school system is overwhelmed, the expanded highway didn’t reduce commute to Tallahassee after all was said and done, expansion (additional tax dollars) isn’t the end all be all. We should bring back the Wakulla Wet Lands Ordinance.
