We the undersigned are regular and frequent users of Yahoo Chat Services in the Category "Romance" and in the rooms listed as 50's and 60's. Recently and over a period of time, we have been harassed, Intimidated, threatened, and bullied by a group of people who like to flaunt the Terms of Service and Code of Conduct as stated by Yahoo.
Yahoo TOS states Clause 6 You agree to not use the Yahoo! Services to:
- article a)
upload, post, email, transmit or otherwise make available any Content that is unlawful, harmful, threatening, abusive, harassing, tortious, defamatory, vulgar, obscene, libelous, invasive of another's privacy, hateful, or racially, ethnically or otherwise objectionable
- article i)
disrupt the normal flow of dialogue, cause a screen to "scroll" faster than other users of the Yahoo! Services are able to type, or otherwise act in a manner that negatively affects other users' ability to engage in real time exchanges
Many of us regularly visit these chat rooms to play music, to relax, unwind, start or finish the day in peace and harmony. We are mature and responsible users of the Service and abide by all of the TOS.
Recently we have struggled to maintain harmony due to people booting. Boot programs are widely distributed and can easilly be accessed. These programs have no other purpose than that of mailiciousl disruption.
Complaints via Yahoo's normal channels have brought about no real protection from the violators.
The Terms of Service and Code of Conduct need to be adhered to by both the User and the Provider. A lack of action by Yahoo in response to many reports of abuse has allowed the mindless few, to remain unpenalized and free to continue their harrasment and to negatively affect others.
These people work as a group. They appear organized and methodical.
Therefore: We the undersigned, ask that Yahoo adhere to it's very own TOS and CoC and take all or any action necessary to bring these violators to a halt in their intimidating tactics. The users support Yahoo and it's sponsors and should be afforded that same respect.
The traction this petition has gained demonstrates the depth of concern regarding the disruption in our chat rooms. It is clear that many users have experienced these frustrations firsthand and seek a return to the standard of conduct promised by the service.

So tired of the constant scroll and booting. I just want to hear the music and talk to my friends. Why is this so hard for yahoo to fix?

getting booted every time i try to listen to music is beyond annoying. yahoo needs to actually ban these accounts instead of just ignoring our reports.
