Urgent Assistance Needed! Are you tired of listening to the constant beeps all day every day coming from the mining facility on Goshen Road? Are the ear-piercing noises from the trucks starting to annoy you? There is a solution that they don't want you to know about. In a 2010 report entitled Technology for a Quieter America, the National Academy of Engineering cited loud back-up beepers as one of the six top noise sources people associate with behavioral and emotional consequences. Did you know that noise exposure leads to: increased stress, fatigue, disturbance of sleep, decreased concentration, decreased mental performance, permanent hearing loss. What's the solution? Luckily, there is an alarm manufactured that is easier on the ear, quieter, and all around safer. Introducing: The White Noise Backup Alarm! Manufactured by the Brigade Electronics, the White Noise Backup Alarm is designed to reduce noise pollution while maintaining safety for those around the vehicles.

Over the past year, we (your neighbors on Goshen Road) have been in contact with a rep from Cape Mining and advised them of these findings several times. We have spoken with the Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA) who gave us their word in writing that these devices are permissible. We have even offered to pay for these devices with our own money! Unfortunately, it seems to have fallen on deaf ears of Cape Mining.

Now, with your help, we are urging the governing body of Middle Township to adopt and enact an ordinance that would require the use of White Noise Backup Alarms in areas where industrial operations affect residential zones. We are in need of your signature on the petition we are starting for this cause so that this can be carried out and handled efficiently and quickly.
