Stop the bbc sending out the wrong message to breed bulldogs!!

I own bulldogs and breeding has many pitfalls and risks and needs someone who can afford a large vet bill and serious thought! This is highly irresponsible and detrimental to the breed and all dogs!

This breed is adorable by doing this you are sending out the wrong message of the breed it deserves better..

I wonder how many bulldogs will be brought because of this headline and bet that in 1-2 years bulldog rescue will be flooded as people realise breeding is not a cash maker

I am shocked that in the current climate of dog rescue centres bursting at the scene and thousands of them being put to sleep every month, let alone the thousands of dogs and puppies being sold on free ad sites like Gumtree, Eastenders has gone ahead and promoted letting a dog have a litter of puppies. It doesn't matter whether they're pedigree or turn out to be the local mongrel's, the point is, the program has put the thought out there to the viewers to make money - however little - from animals. How about promoting responsible neutering?? That would make a good change! Viewers take note of these things, eg Keith Lemon - disgracefully - gave away a Pug puppy as a prize in a tv show. I said that they would be the latest must have pet and their value would shoot up. I was right. The whole country went pug crazy. I hope to God the same doesn't happen with English bulldogs now, as they are a breed that can suffer from serious medical problems and need breeders who know all about the breed, not a load of back yard breeders trying to make a quick quid, which is what you have now promoted. I truly hope Eastenders does something to remove this tasteless storyline.
