Stopping people have communal areas will tear the soul out of Greenman. They’re either bowing to moaners who’ve complained they have to walk too far, or they’re trying to stop people consuming their own food and drink outside the arenas. The excuse about people leaving gazebos behind is pure BS.

How ridiculous ??? , there’s plenty of room and you normally find that it’s 1 gazebo per 3/4 tents for groups of people to congregate , especially if the weather is bad ???? I’m disappointed greenman !!!

Silly decision. Seems like the festival might be selling out, but not in a good way!

Think it's sad that a huge group of us who come every year can't have a communal area :-(

I think this is an excuse to get more overcrowding in the tented areas. The creation of a central space creates small communities within the festival. A sharing of stocks and equipment. The group I go with never leave their tents. And both older younger and disabled friends can meet together in all weathers.

Ridiculous decision, and a ridiculous reason given for it.

Crazy decision. You’re killing the communal vibe for families camping in groups who pay to go early to please a bunch of jealous late arrivers who aren’t even paying extra.

I am disgusted with this decision, it will spoil the whole feeling of Greenman for me as I rely on this social space to avoid feeling alone and isolated.

For many people green man is as much a festival experience as it is a yearly reunion for groups of people. Event shelters are a way in which these people can spend time together especially when they have to hide from the all too often wet Welsh weather.

Bad decision Greenman! Been going for 9 years as a family - way before it is so popular now. Now you want more room

It's ridiculous - a week in Wales with no protection from the elements. I have been for the last 10 years and it has rained every year bar one.

Been going for many happy years - this is totally unnecessary- it’s a cynical attempt to pack people in
